‘Celebration of Life’ to be held Tuesday for victim of Apple River stabbing

A “Celebration of Life” will be held in Stillwater to remember Isaac Schuman Tuesday.

Schuman died after being stabbed while tubing with friends on the Apple River in Somerset, Wisconsin late last month.

Community members came together Monday when a visitation was held for the 17-year-old.

“Isaac was a light, an absolute light. He’s one of those kids that would pop his head out and say ‘Hello Nicole! How are you? What’s new? How are the kids?’ I don’t know too many 17-year-olds who say that these days, but he’s one of those,” said Nicole Hanson, a friend of the Schuman family.

Tuesday’s event will be held from 3-10 p.m. at the Oak Glen Event Center in Stillwater.

Four others were hurt during the July 30 stabbing.

Nicolae Miu is charged with first-degree intentional homicide and other crimes related to the stabbing spree.
