Carver Lake beach shut down in Woodbury due to blue-green algae

The public is being asked to avoid Carver Lake in Woodbury after blue-green algae were found on Tuesday.

The city said the beach will be closed until further notice. The city noted that not all blue-green algal blooms produce toxins, but there is no way of predicting whether they will be toxic. Blue-green algae can be especially harmful to pets.

If you or your pet experience adverse effects after coming into contact with or ingesting lake water, seek medical attention immediately.
