Carver County to close dog park if not cleaned up

Carver County says it will close an off-leash area of a dog park if it isn't cleaned up by Monday.

On Wednesday, the county said the recent lack of upkeep by patrons made conditions at Lake Minnewashta Regional Park "unsightly & unsanitary."

The park's location is Lake Minnewashta Regional Park.

Cleanup events are scheduled from 8:30-10:30 a.m. on both Saturday and Sunday. The county said staff will be on-site during those hours to provide buckets and shovels for patrons and volunteers to clean up the site, but volunteers will have to bring a tool to help.

If the conditions aren't improved by Monday morning, the off-leash area will be closed indefinitely, according to the county.
