Bumper-to-bumper traffic for Renaissance Festival’s final weekend this year

This weekend is the last chance for visitors to attend the Minnesota Renaissance Festival in Shakopee this year.

Saturday, officials in the area were reporting bumper-to-bumper traffic.

According to the Chaska Police Department, drivers could expect delays along southbound Highway 41.

5 EYEWITNESS NEWS previously reported Scott County officials were working to address concerns related to traffic congestion as part of the popular event.

“I had residents and businesses calling with some complaints,” Barb Weckman Brekke, a Scott County commissioner, said. “We do work with the Ren Fest and neighbors on traffic and traffic management but there’s always a few hiccups.”

Weckman Brekke advised visitors to consider the Marschall Road Transit Station as an alternate option. More information on Renaissance Festival parking and transportation options can be found here.
