Brooklyn Park police warn of recent burglaries

Police in Brooklyn Park are warning residents of recent burglaries and urging people to take some precautions.

Brooklyn Park police said many burglaries recently have involved the use of garage door openers that were taken from vehicles parked in driveways.

Police said the burglaries have mainly occurred in the Willowstone, Eidem and Trinity Gardens neighborhoods but that they have been a citywide issue.

The department urged people to:

• Make sure your vehicle is locked if it's parked outside,
• Try to park in a well-lit area or in a garage
• Remember to call 911 immediately if you see suspicious activity in your neighborhood.
