Brooklyn Park man sentenced for St. Paul arson
A Brooklyn Park man has been sentenced for a 2020 case of arson in St. Paul’s Midway area.
According to the U.S. Attorney’s Office, 21-year-old Samuel Elliot Frey was sentenced to over two years (27 months) in prison for the arson of Great Health and Nutrition.
Prosecutors say Frey and others gathered near the store on May 28, 2020, went inside, poured a bottle of hand sanitizer onto a shelving unit and then put a flaming piece of paper on the sanitizer to ignite it.
In addition to his prison sentence, Frey received two years of supervised release and was ordered to pay over $33,000 in restitution.
