Bois Forte man sentenced for 2020 violent assault on another man
A 20-year-old Bois Forte man was sentenced on Friday to two-and-a-half years in prison for violently assaulting another man on the Bois Forte Reservation last year.
Marshall Boshey hit a man on his head and upper body with a baseball bat and cut the victim with a small pocket knife, according to court documents. The incident happened outside the victim’s home on May 31, 2020.
The victim required hospitalization along with 11 staples on his head and sutures on three parts of his body due to his injuries, documents say.
Boshey was federally charged and pleaded guilty to one count of assault with a dangerous weapon this summer according to the Department of Justice District of Minnesota.
