Bloomington man dies after assault in Beltrami County; sheriff’s office investigating
The Beltrami Sheriff’s Office is investigating an incident that involved a man dying from an assault on Friday.
Authorities said, at about 2 a.m., the Beltrami County 911 dispatch center received a report of an assault happening at a home located in the 1000 block of Durand Drive Northwest, in Puposky. Authorities learned upon arrival that a man had died of homicidal violence.
The suspect was arrested at the scene by Beltrami County deputies and is currently being held in the Beltrami County Jail on unrelated criminal charges, pending his arraignment in Beltrami County District Court, the sheriff’s office said.
The deceased man has been identified as Burgess J. Palmore, 53, from Bloomington. The suspect in the case has been identified as 21-year-old Scott A. Schulman, from Bemidji.
There is no other information at this time.
