Big Lake Police Department mourns loss of K9, Bruno

Bruno, a Big Lake Police Department K9, died after an “unforeseen medical emergency” while off-duty, according to a news release from the Big Lake Police Department.

Officers said that Bruno was taken to emergency veterinarians, but due to “rapidly evolving complications,” Bruno died on Wednesday.

Big Lake Chief of Police John Kaczmarek said in the news release that “his handler Officer Chaffee, emergency veterinarian personnel, and the members of the Big Lake Police Department did everything they could. The Big Lake Police Department and the City of Big Lake would like to thank you for your overwhelming support.”
