Bicyclist rescued after falling 60 feet off West River Parkway

Thursday evening, authorities rescued a bicyclist who fell off an embankment in Minneapolis.

Several emergency vehicles were seen near W. River Parkway and E. 38th Street at 5:30 p.m.

The Minneapolis Fire Department said a bicyclist went over an embankment in the area, falling about 60 feet and getting caught in a tree that was over the river.

Crews were able to rescue the victim by setting up a hauling system.

The victim was transported to an area hospital for broken bones but is in stable condition.
