BCA identifies officer involved in St. Cloud incident that left suspect, officer injured

The Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension (BCA) on Friday identified the officer involved in an incident in St. Cloud earlier this week that left both the officer and a suspect injured.

The officer was identified as Ryan Priebe, who has been with the St. Cloud Police Department since 2006.

According to police, Priebe suffered a gunshot wound to his hand during a struggle with 18-year-old Sumaree Deashan Boose early Monday morning.

Boose was also injured in the incident and was taken to a hospital. He has since been released and charged with first-degree assault of a peace officer. Priebe was released from the hospital Monday and has been placed on standard paid administrative leave, the BCA said.

The BCA is still investigating the incident.
