B&B Theatres to open 1st Minnesota location at Mall of America

The sixth-largest theater chain in North America is getting ready to open its first location in Minnesota.

Mall of America announced Thursday that B&B Theatres will open a location inside the mall on May 27.

"Even in the throes of a troublesome year for the cinema industry, opportunity will find a way to knock," B&B Theatres President and CEO Bob Bagby said. "It’s impossible to overstate how tough this year has been for individuals, families, and businesses. Our industry has been hit hard, and our hearts go out to operators that have been forced to close locations and to communities that have been left without theaters. This opportunity with Mall of America has been a source of excitement and optimism for us and seems a match made in cinema heaven as it continues to grow and expand its offerings through progressive partnerships and pioneering collaborations."

The theater will have 13 screens and will also serve hot, made-to-order food including flatbreads, fried chicken sandwiches, burgers, hot dogs, popcorn chicken, double-fried french fries and funnel cakes. A bar will also open later this summer with weekly movie-themed drinks in addition to wine, beer and other spirits.

B&B will be located on level four, east.
