Bad Waitress restaurant announces indefinite closure after 18 years in business

The Bad Waitress, a long-standing breakfast and brunch diner along Eat Street in Minneapolis, will be “indefinitely” closing following brunch service on Sunday, Jan. 29.

Owners Andy and Mary Cohen posted a notice on their website Wednesday about the decision saying that “Being a part of Eat Street and serving the Whittier neighborhood and beyond these past 18 years has been an honor.”

They went on to talk about the strong spirit and resilience of the community and thanked everyone for the memories, adding, “We hope to see you again soon!”

Customers are told to use their outstanding gift cards before Jan 29.

The restaurant is open Monday-Sunday from 7 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. through Jan 29. It’s located at the intersection of Nicollet Avenue and East 26th Street.
