Baby treated for hypothermia after being found in stolen vehicle

Minneapolis police say a 6-month-old boy is recovering after being treated for hypothermia when he was found alone in a stolen vehicle.

According to police, officers found the boy in the parked vehicle shortly after 8 a.m. Tuesday on the 2400 block of Oakland Avenue.

Officers add the boy wasn’t dressed for the weather conditions, and that both he and his mother are known by police.

Although the car was reported as stolen, police didn’t immediately say where the vehicle is from, although members of both Hennepin and Douglas counties are investigating the incident.

The boy’s injuries aren’t considered to be life-threatening.

No other details were immediately provided.
