Authorities investigating death in Pierce County

Authorities in Pierce County, Wisconsin, are investigating the death of a 50-year-old woman.

According to the Pierce County Sheriff’s Office, deputies were called just after 2:15 p.m. Monday on the report of a missing woman in Bay City.

Deputies arrived at the residence and began to search the area. The woman’s body was later found in a nearby wooded area.

The sheriff’s office identified the woman as Diane Peterson. Authorities say there is no suspicion of foul play.

Her death remains under investigation.
