Woman killed in crash with semi near Elk River Wednesday morning

A woman is dead after a crash with a semi-truck on Highway 169 near Elk River Wednesday morning.

Kimberly Mae Woods, 41, from Milaca, died after being struck head-on by a semi-truck.

A Minnesota State Patrol crash report states that a Ford Ranger driven by Woods was southbound on Highway 169 when she lost control and went through the median and into oncoming northbound traffic around 7:20 a.m.

The driver of the semi was not injured.

This happened at Mile Marker 166 between 237th Avenue Northwest and 239th Avenue Northwest.

Road conditions are described as snowy and icy at the time of the crash, and no alcohol is suspected of being involved.

The road was closed until about 11 a.m.
