Authorities in Brown County warn of scam involving sale of boat, ATVs

Authorities in Brown County are warning residents of a scam involving the sale of boats, ATVs and other merchandise.
According to the Brown County Sheriff’s Office, the scammers are using BoatTrader.com and Craigslist. The scammers have created a fake website, titled Helget Enterprise, that provides a fake address near Sleepy Eye.
In the scam, the seller claims of losing her husband in an accident and needs to sell their property to move forward.
The sheriff’s office said there has been over 20 people from around the U.S. that have responded to the scammers.
