Authorities identify victim in fatal Polk County crash

Authorities have identified the driver a vehicle that was killed in a fatal crash in Polk County Sunday night as 54-year-old Dawn Richter.

According to the Polk County Sheriff's Department, deputies were called just after 7 p.m. on the report of a two-vehicle crash at County Road M.

The sheriff's office said a truck pulling a recreation trailer was attempting to make a left turn onto East Cedar Lake Road when a southbound passenger car, driven by Richter, collided with the truck.

The driver of the truck, identified as a 47-year-old Iowa man, has been arrested for homicide by intoxicated use of a vehicle, according to the sheriff's department.
