Australian man hit, injured by pickup truck on Wisconsin interstate
A man suffered life-threatening injuries after being hit by a pickup truck on the interstate near Hudson Tuesday night, the Wisconsin State Patrol says.
The Northwest Region Communications Center received a call shortly before 11 p.m. Tuesday that a pedestrian had been hit near mile marker 1 on eastbound Interstate 94.
Upon arrival, responders determined that the pedestrian was wearing dark clothing, was on the interstate and was struck by a Dodge Ram.
The State Patrol has not specified on which part of the roadway the crash occurred.
The pedestrian, a 59-year-old man from Australia, was taken to Regions Hospital in St. Paul for treatment of life-threatening injuries.
No details have been provided on the man’s injuries or condition.
The driver, a 45-year-old man from River Falls, was wearing a seat belt and was not hurt.
The Wisconsin State Patrol is investigating the crash.
