Artists came together Saturday to paint a Black Lives Matter mural outside the African American Heritage Museum and Gallery in north Minneapolis.

The mural stands on Plymouth Avenue North between Penn and Newton avenues. Each letter was designed by one of 16 artists.

Tina Burnside, co-founder of the Minnesota African American Heritage Museum and Gallery, said the mural is a way for the community to come together to fight for racial justice.

"We want everyone to unite together to support that Black Lives Matter and to support the fight against systemic racism," Burnside said.
