Armed robbery, vehicle theft reported by University of Minnesota off-campus clinic

The University of Minnesota says there was an armed robbery and vehicle theft around the middle of the day Thursday near an off-campus clinic.

The incident happened around noon on Franklin Avenue near Highway 55.

According to the safety alert, suspects robbed a victim at gunpoint and then stole the victim’s vehicle at 16th Avenue South and Franklin Avenue East, which is near the Community-University Health Care Center.

The victim’s stolen vehicle is a gray Mazda CX-5. The suspect’s vehicle was a black SUV, possibly a Toyota. Authorities say it’s unknown which direction the suspect drove off after the crime.
