Alleged drug dealer faces third-degree murder charges after woman found dead from overdose

A man is facing third-degree murder charges after police found a woman dead inside a Bloomington motel room in April.

A criminal complaint filed in Hennepin County names 39-year-old Jacob William Crosby as the only person seen on surveillance footage arriving and leaving the woman’s motel room.

When police arrived, they found the woman’s body along with about 10 grams of fentanyl inside the room.

The complaint states that investigators found messages between the victim and Crosby detailing the amount and cost of the drugs as well her location for the delivery.

A medical examiner determined that the woman’s cause of death was ‘acute para-florofentanyl toxicity” according to the complaint.

Crosby is not in custody.
