Activists are calling on Minneapolis leaders to give the community more control over policing in the city.
Monday, the activists rallied outside city hall to criticize the city council’s proposed charter amendment to replace the Minneapolis Police Department with a Department of Community Safety and Violence Prevention.
They say that it does not go far enough, calling it a symbolic gesture after the death of George Floyd.
