911 services interrupted for Verizon customers in parts of metro area
Police have received reports that Verizon customers in parts of the metro are experiencing service interruptions when calling 911.
Members of the Anoka County Sheriff’s Dispatch confirmed the issue shortly after midnight Monday morning. The outage is affecting Minneapolis and Brooklyn Center but could be more widespread.
Anyone who cannot call 911 is asked to use their local non-emergency number to contact dispatch. You can also still text 911.
The non-emergency line for Minneapolis residents is 612-348-2345, while other Hennepin County residents can use 952-258-5321.
