9-year-old struck by pontoon motor in Morrison County, airlifted to hospital
A 9-year-old was airlifted to a hospital Sunday after being struck by a pontoon motor in Morrison County.
The Morrison County Sheriff's Office said it received a call at about 5:28 p.m. that a 9-year-old boy was injured while in Round Lake, north of Randall.
The sheriff's office said 39-year-old Kara Sjol, of Brownsdale, was driving a pontoon and then attempted to throw a rope to the child in the water. However, the rope came up short, so Sjol backed up the pontoon and the motor struck the child while he was in the water.
According to the sheriff's office, the boy was airlifted to a hospital with serious injuries.
His condition Tuesday morning was unclear.
