73-year-old woman hit, killed while crossing road in Pierce County, Wisconsin
A 73-year-old woman was hit and killed while crossing the road Tuesday, according to the Pierce County, Wis. Sheriff’s Office.
The sheriff says 73-year-old Lynda Hudak of Prescott was crossing a road in Oak Grove Township when she was struck by a midsize SUV traveling north on State Highway 35 near 1240th Street.
The sheriff did not provide additional details about the events or road conditions in the moments before the crash happened. Responders went to the scene after they received a report just after 5:15 p.m. Tuesday.
The Pierce County Medical Examiner determined Hudak was dead at the scene.
The sheriff identified the driver of the SUV as 42-year-old Leila Koehnen of Harris, Minn. Koehnen was treated at River Falls Area Hospital for unspecified injuries.
Emergency responders from the City of Prescott and Allina Health assisted the Pierce County Sheriff’s Office.
