5 teens arrested after burglary, pursuit in Mendota Heights

Five juveniles were arrested Monday afternoon following a burglary and pursuit in Mendota Heights.

According to Mendota Heights police, officers were called to a burglary in progress along the 1800 block of South Lane at around 3 p.m. The caller said a male suspect stole property and a vehicle before fleeing.

Officers found the vehicle nearby and tried to stop it but the driver drove away and a pursuit began. Eventually, the car became disabled near Highway 13 and Interstate 35E and five teens inside ran away.

Police were able to track down all five suspects — who ranged in age from 14 to 17, police said.

The teens were booked on burglary, motor vehicle theft, possession of stolen property and fleeing police. The stolen property was returned to its owner.
