5 rescued from capsized boat near Spicer

Five people were rescued from a lake Monday night after their boat capsized near Spicer.

The Kandiyohi County Sheriff’s Office says it received a report of a capsized boat around 300 yards from shore at Green Lake shortly before 10 p.m.

The five people in the boat weren’t wearing life jackets but were able to climb on top of the capsized boat until they were rescued, the press release says.

Authorities say three teenage boys were taken to a hospital due to signs of hypothermia. No other injuries were reported.

The sheriff’s office says the incident remains under investigation.
