'Threatening message' the reason Lac qui Parle Valley Schools closed Thursday, Friday

The Lac qui Parle Valley Schools ISD 2853 in Madison, Minnesota, said on Thursday the reason for the closing of its schools on Thursday and Friday is due to a "threatening message."

According to a post on the district's Facebook page, a threatening message was found after school at Lac qui Parle Valley High School on Wednesday.

"Due to the timing of the discovery of the threat, the school elected to close as a precautionary measure to allow the initial investigation into the matter," the post states.

The school district said it will be enhancing its security to ensure the safety of students and staff, effective immediately.
