A Minnesota college student is making doughnut dreams come true across the Twin Cities.

The "Donut Guy," Jayson Gonzalez of Champlin, drives 270 miles to a Krispy Kreme store in Iowa and brings them back to customers in Minnesota. And now, thanks to a donation, he can make hundreds of deliveries in his brand-new custom van.

It can hold 450 boxes of doughnuts — 5,400 doughnuts in all.

Krispy Kreme reverses course, allows Minnesota student resale service

Gonzalez said his business started as a way to pay off student loans, and he has advice for anyone looking to try something new.

"This all started from an idea. To everyone else this was a pretty dumb idea, if you want to call it that," he said. "But you just got to trust yourself and go with it and it can turn into something really great."
