'Beastly Boulevard' opens to enjoy and support zoo

Right now is usually the prime-time to go to the zoo, but it is not during a global pandemic. The Minnesota Zoo has not been open since mid-March.

Now, during the usual peak, it’s has created a way for you to enjoy it safely.

Opening on June 24 and running through July 5, the "Beastly Boulevard" gives families a drive-thru option to not only see animals but also support the zoo when it needs it most.

“This closure happened really during the busiest times of the zoo,” Zach Nugent, a spokesperson with the Minnesota Zoo, said.

“That was really a substantial gap – so now we’re able to be at a point where we’re able to safely be able to welcome guests back in this drive-thru experience and use it as a way to support the zoo because as I said earlier the zoo needs support more now than ever,” Nugent added.

Rule No. 1 on Beastly Boulevard is to stay in your car. There are also a few other things the zoo needs you to know (including COVID-19 safety protocols) before you book a time and enjoy.
