35-year-old man dies in Kandiyohi ATV crash

A 35-year-old man died in an ATV crash in Kandiyohi County early Saturday morning.
According to the Kandiyohi County Sheriff’s Office, officers responded to Gennessee Township on a report of a possible ATV crash with unknown injuries.
When authorities arrived at the scene, they found a driver, who had been partially ejected and pinned. They immediately began life-saving measures, however, the driver was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The driver was identified as a 35-year-old man from Atwater. According to a preliminary investigation, the ATV was traveling west on 1st Avenue East on the 15000 block and lost control, causing the ATV to enter the north ditch before striking an approach, causing the ATV to overturn and land on its side.
The victim’s name will be released after family is notified. The crash continues to be under investigation by the sheriff’s office.
