3 injured in Edina attempted carjacking Thursday, 2 Good Samaritans tried to help

Three people were injured in an attempted carjacking in Edina Thursday, according to police.

At 5:01 p.m., Edina police responded to the Lunds & Byerlys in the 3900 block of West 50th Street for an in-progress carjacking. Police said four juvenile males tried to take an occupied vehicle when two Good Samaritans stepped in to help.

Three people were injured — one seriously — in the incident, according to police. The suspects all fled.

The person seriously injured was taken to North Memorial Health Hospital. They were in serious but stable condition, police said.
