3 injured from shootings and 1 injured from stabbing in 4 separate incidents in Minneapolis
Three victims were injured from gunshot wounds and one injured from a stabbing in Minneapolis Friday night from four separate incidents.
According to the Minneapolis Police Department, at 5:52 p.m., officers responded to a ShotSpotter activation in 1300 Block of Irving Avenue North. Officers arrived and located unoccupied vehicles that had damage from gunshots. No victims were immediately located, but a short time later, a victim called police and advised that he had received a grazing gunshot wound to an extremity.
Police said he was sitting in a car in the area and was shot, then everyone fled.
The next incident happened at 8:09 p.m. Officers responded to North Memorial Medical Center on a shooting report. Officers arrived and spoke with the victim, who said he was shot in the head in the area of 5100 Block of Dupont Avenue North. According to police, he advised that he was driving and an unknown individual shot him. Another person drove him to the hospital. He is in serious condition, but his injuries are believed to be not life-threatening.
After the second incident an hour later, at around 9:34 p.m., officers responded to a report of a stabbing 1800 Block of 3rd Avenue South. The victim left before the officers’ arrival. The victim went to Hennepin County Medical Center with a non-life-threatening stab wound.
According to police, the victim is unwilling to share information with the police.
The last incident happened at 11:15 p.m. Police said that a fight broke out between two groups in the area of 2600 block of Lyndale Avenue South. The suspect left the area for a short bit and then returned and shot the victim in the foot. The suspect then fled before officers arrived.
The victim was transported to Hennepin County Medical Center with a non-life-threatening gunshot wound.
All four incidents remain under investigation. There are no further details at this time.
