3 airlifted to hospital after crash involving erratic driver in Becker County

Three people were transported to a hospital after an erratic driver reportedly hit two people in Becker County Tuesday.

According to the Becker County Sheriff's Office, deputies were notified of a person driving at a high rate of speed and through people's yards at about 8:53 p.m. Tuesday in Elbow Lake. A short time later, they were notified that the vehicle had hit two people who were trying to stop it and several people were now fighting.

Deputies responded and determined 33-year-old Kevin Roger Doerr, of Deer River, was the driver of the vehicle. The sheriff's office said 30-year-old Derek Eugene Doerr and 29-year-old Nakoya Lee Vanwert were the victims who'd been hit. All three were injured and were airlifted to hospitals. The extent of their injuries is unknown.

The sheriff's office said the incident remains under investigation.
