23-year-old man killed in Carver County crash

A 23-year-old man died from injuries sustained in a two-vehicle crash Tuesday night in Victoria, according to a Minnesota State Patrol crash report.

Around 7:49 p.m., a Chevrolet Silverado was driving eastbound on Highway 5. A Buick Riviera was also heading eastbound and was making a U-turn at Park Drive. The Chevrolet T-boned the Buick on the driver's side, the crash report stated.

The Chevrolet went off the road, while the Buick stayed on the road in the intersection.

The driver of the Buick, 23-year-old D'Artagnan Schlagel of Norwood Young America, Minnesota, was rushed to a medical center in Chaska. He later died. He was not wearing a seat belt, the crash report stated.

The driver of the Chevrolet, Reid Larson, 39, of Isanti, sustained non-life-threatening injuries. The crash report stated that troopers believe Larson had been drinking alcohol prior to the crash.
