2022 Minneapolis Aquatennial schedule announced
The schedule for Minneapolis’ official summer celebration has been announced.
The 83rd Minneapolis Aquatennial is set to run from July 20 through July 23 and is full of free, family-friendly events.
The Torchlight Parade highlights the first day and will run along Nicollet Mall from 12th Street to Fourth Street starting at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, July 20. The four-day celebration will wrap up with fireworks along the Mississippi riverfront starting at 10 p.m. on July 23.
Other events during the Aquatennial include:
- The American Red Cross blood drive at Peavey Plaza from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., Wednesday through Friday.
- Lawn games on the Government Center South Plaza from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday and Thursday.
- Movies, featuring “Black Panther” on Wednesday and “Aquaman” on Thursday.
- The Twin Cities River Rats Waterski Show on Friday night.
- Twin Cities Carifest on Saturday.

The Aquatennial is also looking for volunteers to help run the event. Anyone interested in volunteering can find more information online.
