2 stabbed, 1 in custody after domestic violence incident in Bemidji
Two people were taken to a hospital by ambulance after being stabbed in Bemidji on Tuesday.
According to the Beltrami County Sheriff’s Office, at about 12:30 p.m., the Beltrami County 911 dispatch center received a report of a domestic violence incident that resulted in two adults — one man and one woman — being stabbed at a home in the 2000 block of Whiting Road Northwest, located in Northern Township.
The caller, the male victim of the stabbing, told police that an ex-girlfriend had forcibly entered the home and stabbed him and the woman resident of the home. He added that the suspect fled the residence in a vehicle and was able to provide the vehicle’s description. The vehicle was located a short distance from the residence and the lone woman occupant was identified as the suspect. She was arrested without incident by a Beltrami County deputy.
Aid was rendered to both victims at the scene before Bemidji Ambulance transported the two victims to the Sanford-Bemidji Emergency Department for care. No further information is available at this time regarding the medical status of the two victims.
Kathleen M. Martin, 34, from Ponemah, was arrested for first-degree burglary and second-degree assault, and is currently being held in Beltrami County Jail pending arraignment in Beltrami County District Court.
