2 Minneapolis car, garage fires under investigation

Investigators are working to determine the cause of a couple fires Saturday in Minneapolis.

The Minneapolis Fire Department says crews responded to a parking ramp in the 2900 block of 10th Avenue South just after 3 a.m. There, they found two cars engulfed in flames on the second floor. The flames were quickly extinguished and no other vehicles were found on fire.

Authorities say the fire didn’t damage the parking ramp structure.

Then, just before 5:30 p.m., crews were called to a garage fire in the 2700 block of 17th Avenue South. There, firefighters found a detached garage fully engulfed in flames that had extended to a neighboring detached garage.

Firefighters extinguished both fires before they extended to any homes. No injuries were reported in either fire.

Both fires remain under investigation.
