2 injured in personal watercraft collision on St. Louis County lake
Two people were injured after a personal watercraft collision on a lake in St. Louis County Friday afternoon.
The St. Louis County Sheriff’s Office told ABC affiliate WDIO that a man and a woman from Hibbing were riding a personal watercraft on Little Sturgeon Lake when they turned toward shore and collided with another personal watercraft, which was driven by a Chisholm man.
All three people were thrown into the water.
The sheriff’s office said a 38-year-old Hibbing man was airlifted to a hospital in Duluth with a left leg injury. A 34-year-old Hibbing woman also suffered a left leg injury and was taken to a hospital by ambulance. The 37-year-old Chisholm man wasn’t injured.
Authorities are still investigating but alcohol is believed to be a factor in the crash.
