Two people were taken to the hospital after an early-morning crash in St. Paul Monday.
The crash happened in the area of White Bear and Cottage avenues just before 1 a.m.
St. Paul Police said, at about 12:30 a.m., officers located a black Chevrolet HHR that they believed was involved in an armed robbery on Sunday. When officers activated squad lights, the suspect vehicle fled east on Magnolia Street.
After officers lost sight of the suspect vehicle near Hazelwood Street and Ivy Avenue, they terminated the pursuit.
However, officers found the vehicle again on Cottage Avenue and again activated squad lights, but the suspect vehicle turned off its headlights so officers again stopped pursuing the vehicle.
A short time later, the suspect vehicle crashed into a Nissan Pathfinder at the intersection of Cottage Avenue and White Bear Avenue.
A 17-year-old male suspect was taken to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, according to police. A 30-year-old woman in the Nissan was also taken to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
An investigation is ongoing.
