UPDATE: 2nd dog, Cooper, found by railroad workers after dog day care burglary
UPDATE 7/16/22: St. Paul police are working on several leads and reviewing surveillance video to identify a suspect in the burglary case that led to two dogs missing.
Police say all dogs involved are now accounted for.
Owner Nicole Campbell tells 5 EYEWITNESS NEWS that her family’s second dog, Cooper, was found on Saturday morning.
Railway workers called the family after finding the dog wandering the railroad area in St. Paul, Campbell says.
The family says Cooper appears to be doing well, but they will take him to the vet in case.
Cooper, the second missing dog, was found on the morning of July 16 with the help of railroad workers.
The family’s first dog, Gunny, was reported home safe at the end of the week. The two dogs were missing after an overnight burglary Wednesday night into Thursday at a St. Paul dog day care and grooming center.

UPDATE 7/15/22: Police say one of the two dogs taken during an overnight burglary at a St. Paul dog day care and grooming center has been reunited with its family.
Friday morning, St. Paul police said Gunny, a German Shepherd, is home safe with his parents.
However, another dog is still missing.
On Friday, Cooper’s owner Nicole Campbell and her family put out fliers to try and bring Cooper home.
“It was heartbreaking, it hurt. It’s almost like losing a child just with four legs instead of two,” Campbell said. “I hope he comes home.”
Bill Babcock’s dog, Gunny, was found in a park in Minneapolis.
“I hope he’s going to be OK. He’s walking with a limp, his hips are very sore, he’s lost a lot of weight,” Babcock said.
While pleading for help from the public, Babcock offered some advice to other pet owners.
“The thing that saved Gunny is I had a collar on him, it had a brass plate with his phone number on it, my home phone and cellphone, and that’s how we got him back; I would suggest that to everybody,” Babcock said.
Police say officers were called to St. Paul Paws, located on University Avenue West near Prior Avenue North, Thursday morning on a report of a break-in.
Police learned that some of the 14 boarded dogs had been released. Eight were still kenneled but three were running around the business and three others were missing.
Police and St. Paul Animal Control recovered one of the missing dogs Thursday and Gunny was found Friday, but Cooper remains missing as of Friday afternoon.
The burglary investigation remains active and no arrests have been made.

St. Paul police say officers were called to St. Paul Paws, located on University Avenue West near Prior Avenue North, Thursday morning on a report of a break-in.
Police learned that some of the 14 boarded dogs had been released. Eight were still kenneled but three were running around the business and three others were missing.
Police and St. Paul Animal Control recovered one of the missing dogs Thursday but, as of 1:30 p.m., two others remained missing.
The burglary investigation remains active and no arrests have been made.
Anyone who sees either of the missing dogs is asked to call Animal Control at 651-266-1100. Anyone with information on the burglary should call police at 651-266-5574.
