2 dead, 3 in either critical or serious condition after Andover crash
A crash Saturday morning in Andover ended up killing two people and seriously or critically injuring three others, according to the Anoka County Sheriff’s Office.
Police say the collision happened at 10:02 a.m. A car was heading northbound while a pickup truck was heading southbound on County Road 7 when they collided.
Donald Paul Richardson, 34, of Ham Lake — was declared dead at the scene Saturday morning. In an update on Monday, another person who was taken to a nearby hospital and airlifted from the scene also died. She was identified as 23-year-old Melissa Rose Iverson, of Anoka.
A four-year-old boy remains in critical condition at a local hospital on Monday.
Richardson, Iverson and the 4-year-old boy were inside the car when it collided head-on with a pickup truck along County Road 7.
Two people inside the pickup at the time of the collision — a 56-year-old man and woman — remain in serious condition.
Authorities are still investigating the crash.
