2 arrests made in connection to multiple thefts reported in Crystal

The Crystal Police Department announced Monday that two suspects have been arrested in connection to multiple thefts in the city.
The department tweeted the thefts involved over 30 packages, in vehicles and storage lockers.

Clarence Kentrell Carter Jr., 38, and Daseanna Destiny Williams, 20, are each charged with receiving stolen property, mail theft and theft. Williams is also charged with possession of a stolen check.
According to a criminal complaint, Crystal police had received several reports from multiple victims between Dec. 10 and Feb. 3 regarding thefts from storage lockers and vehicles at an apartment complex.
On Jan. 15, a maintenance worker at the complex was invited into an apartment rented by Carter and Williams to help fix a heating issue. While inside the apartment, the worker saw a pink hardcover luggage bag with "President" on the side, which matched one that was reported stolen by another resident, the complaint states.
The worker took a picture of the luggage bag and then notified police.
On Jan. 24, police executed a search warrant on the apartment and recovered several of the items reported stolen and two pawn receipts in Williams' name relating to stolen fishing reels and sunglasses. Police also found a money order stolen from the apartment's dropbox.
The complaint states police have photographic evidence tying the check to Williams because she posted pictures to her Facebook page.
Williams denied stealing the items but admitted to selling many things, albeit while denying she knew they were stolen, the complaint states.
Carter admitted to stealing several items, including mail addressed to others in the complex, the complaint states. He told police that Williams took the check and tried to get him to cash it, and that other than the packages he admitted to stealing Williams stole the rest. He also admitted to being the lookout while Williams went through one or two cars.
The complaint states the total value of the stolen property to be $1,190.97, and the value of the cashier's check to be $1,210.
