2 arrested following weapons complaint in Brooklyn Park
Police say two people are in custody after a weapons complaint Wednesday evening led to the discovery of multiple guns and several hundred rounds of ammunition.
According to Brooklyn Park police, officers were called to the 5800 block of 73rd Avenue North at around 7:45 p.m.
Officers were told there were two people in a vehicle with a number of guns and they intended to shoot someone.
When they arrived, officers did a high-risk traffic stop, and eventually, arrested both the driver and a passenger. Police say they had to use a Taser on the driver during the stop due to a lack of cooperation.
After a search of the vehicle, police say they found three assault rifles, two handguns and hundreds of rounds of ammunition.
Police say they also called in additional departments for crowd control during the stop due to a large number of people pressing toward officers.
