2 Alexandria residents in hospital after 2-vehicle crash in Douglas County
Two people were seriously injured in a crash between a crossover and a van around 4:30 p.m. Thursday in Douglas County, according to a Minnesota State Patrol report.
The report says 80-year-old Marilyn Grover and 91-year-old William Grover, both from Alexandria, were taken to a hospital in St. Cloud for life-threatening injuries after the crash.
No one else was in the Grovers’ crossover SUV at the time of the crash. The passenger van’s five occupants, all from Bloomington, are OK.
Early State Patrol information indicates the crossover was traveling north on State Highway 29 and the van was traveling east on County Road 5 in Carlos Township when the vehicles collided at the intersection of the two roads.
The report did not specify what caused the crash.
Everyone involved was wearing their seatbelt, and both airbags deployed.
