19 people displaced after St. Paul apartment fire, arson investigation underway

An arson investigation is underway after a fire at a three-story apartment building in St. Paul.

A 5 EYEWITNESS NEWS crew was at the scene near Marion Street and West Idaho Avenue earlier this week.

Firefighters were able to evacuate the building and extinguish the fire. No injuries were reported.

Police were called to the scene and took a man in his 30s into custody.

Firefighters said the building is now condemned and 19 people were displaced. The American Red Cross is assisting those residents.
