14-year-old arrested in connection to fatal St. Paul shooting, victim identified
A 14-year-old has been arrested in connection to a fatal shooting in St. Paul Tuesday night.
According to St. Paul police, the 14-year-old boy officers brought in for questioning Tuesday night is now being held at the Ramsey County Juvenile Detention Center on suspicion of murder.
Police investigating homicide on St. Paul’s east side
Officers responded to the 1200 block of Hazelwood Street at about 6 p.m. Tuesday on a report of a male victim shot in a vehicle. When officers arrived at the scene, they found a victim in a pickup truck suffering from a gunshot wound to the head. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.

We have made an arrest in relation to yesterday’s shooting death on the 1200 block of Hazelwood St.
The 14 year old male we brought in for questioning last night is being held at the Ramsey County Juvenile Detention Center for suspicion of murder.
Police later identified the victim of the shooting as 17-year-old Jorge Batres, of Coon Rapids.

The male homicide victim from yesterday’s shooting on the 1200 block of Hazelwood St. has been identified as Jorge Batres, 17, of Coon Rapids.
