12-year-old airlifted to hospital after firework goes off in hand

A 12-year-old boy was injured Monday after a firework went off in his hand.

The Stearns County Sheriff’s Office said deputies were called to the 300 block of Third Avenue NE in St. Stephen for a medical emergency.

Deputies learned the boy was inside his garage when a firework went off in his hand.

The boy was airlifted to a hospital for treatment of a serious hand injury.

No other details were immediately available.
