1 severely injured in Wright County crash

Authorities say one person is recovering from life-threatening injuries following a crash in Wright County Sunday evening.

According to a Minnesota State Patrol incident report, a westbound Chevy Suburban collided with an eastbound Kia Sorrento on Highway 55 near High Street in Rockford shortly before 8:30 p.m.

The driver of the Suburban, identified as a 36-year-old Lake City woman with life-threatening injuries, was taken to North Memorial Hospital.

Meanwhile, the driver of the Sorento, identified as a 28-year-old Brooklyn Center man, suffered injuries not considered to be life-threatening. He was not taken to a hospital, according to the report.

No information was provided on what led up to the crash, however, the report states there was alcohol use by the Lake City woman.

Authorities say the drivers were the only people in their vehicles, and no pedestrians were involved in the crash.

Road conditions were listed as wet.
